As a result,  En cons\u00e9quence, the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) estimates a reduction in international arrivals of 1 billion, a loss of more than USD 1 trillion in revenue from international tourism and the potential loss of 120 million jobs (UNWTO, 2021). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image is-style-default\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/dynamiquestouristiques.esg.uqam.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/162\/Crise-tourisme-entre-effondrement-et-regeneration--1024x683.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-935\" width=\"668\" height=\"445\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dynamiquestouristiques.esg.uqam.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/162\/Crise-tourisme-entre-effondrement-et-regeneration--1024x683.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/dynamiquestouristiques.esg.uqam.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/162\/Crise-tourisme-entre-effondrement-et-regeneration--300x200.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/dynamiquestouristiques.esg.uqam.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/162\/Crise-tourisme-entre-effondrement-et-regeneration--768x512.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/dynamiquestouristiques.esg.uqam.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/162\/Crise-tourisme-entre-effondrement-et-regeneration--1536x1024.jpeg 1536w, https:\/\/dynamiquestouristiques.esg.uqam.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/162\/Crise-tourisme-entre-effondrement-et-regeneration--2048x1365.jpeg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 668px) 100vw, 668px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>This situation has had different consequences for tourism, ranging from the considerable loss of jobs, which were mostly already precarious, less well paid and predominantly occupied by women (Gossling et al., 2020; Baum et al. 2020), to the transformation of the perception of destinations where emblematic places of tourism, mainly urban (Venice, Barcelona,New York, etc.),&nbsp;are being redefined by the media as abandoned spaces, or even at-risk (Houiller -Guibert, 2020), to the increase in tourist frequentation of peripheral destinations (Adey et al. , 2020).
